Precious Metals Exploration

We have recently been providing Human Factors and Human Performance support for the exploration departments of two mining companies both here in Western Australia and South Australia. They wanted understand three critical areas:
  • How to minimise errors in the marking and identification of core samples;
  • How to optimise the work flow of samples to minimise handling and optimise process efficiency; and
  • How to best design the work area and auxiliary equipment to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.
The brief was to focus on design controls for these areas. Between the two projects 41 additional recommendations were provided to improve the current design and also to be considered for future plant and facilities.
